RENA AIKEN
Rena Aiken has lived in a lot of different places across the globe. From Mexico and Taiwan to New York and California. Her mother taught her how to sew at the early age of five and she has been creating ever since. She studied early education at SUNY Old Westbury and Costume Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. After her education in NY, she moved to Taiwan where she ran her own ESL Language School for children aged 3-17. She settled here in the Bay Area nearly a decade ago with her two young boys and husband because of the richness in culture and creativity. She is a Certified Birthing Doula and also works at UCSF Medical Center. Rena loves crocheting, knitting, embroidery, twig weaving, miniature furniture building, sewing, pattern making, jewelry, sculpture, fairy garden, candle, soap, and terrarium making and is ecstatic to be a part of the Creative Canopy family where she can share her love of working with young people to tap into their imaginations and nurture their creativity. |
